Brownie Guides

'I promise that I'll do my best, to love my God to serve my Queen and my country, to help other people and to keep the Brownie Guide law'

If you were a Brownie in your youth, I hoped you remembered this. Whenever I think back to my youth, Brownie Guides is possibly one of my favourite things. I went to 3rd Tettenhall Brownies, I was a Sixer a.k.a leader of the Sprites. The whole Brownie Guides has such a camaraderie surrounding it. I suppose it's another secondary socialisation which teaches, good manners and just generally being a good member of society. Not only that it was the place where I had the best times. Also it was around in July we'd go to Brownie Camp which was amazing. A weekend away in a cabin with your friends, sleeping in bunk beds staying up chatting after lights went out, it was just fantastic. I always remember one of the times we went to Brownie Camp it was Harry Potter themed. So naturally I was in my element we were sorted into Houses, I was put in Hufflepuff which at the beginning I was livid about but Hufflepuff became the House to be in. We played a muggle version of Quidditch and I was a Seeker, I don't wan't to blow my trumpet but I was amazing. Brown Owl would throw a Golden Snitch every now and then and the two Seekers would have to run after it. This is no word of a lie I caught the snitch the majority of the time, I had a deep connection to the snitch I feel.
Anyway like I said before when I think back to Brownies, I have nothing but blissfully happy memories. If only I was still 9 I could go back, but I'm not.
