Christmas
I'm not really the type of person who likes celebrating things. Friends birthdays that's fine I love giving them presents and them having a good time. But my birthday I hate and I'm not a fan of holidays either, I think I am one of those cynical types, but I would never ruin it for other people. Christmas is one of those times that everyone looks forward to, to get presents, see family, eat, drink and be merry. I don't know why, but I just really don't enjoy it, I haven't for probably the last 5 years or so. In my flat it is really quite Christmassy, with our decorations and stuff and it is lovely. But I don't think it's as much that as I don't understand Christmas, of course I understand the actual point of Christmas, celebrating the birth of Jesus and all that. But what gets me is that people use the excuse 'It's Christmas' to overindulge on everything and then moan all day about how full they are and how they feel sick while tucking into a tin of Quality Streets. Also the run up to Christmas is much better than actual Christmas day, you have Christmas markets and they are lovely, that is one thing about Christmas I do like. But I just think it's so much effort and money for just one day essentially. Everybody gets so stressed with cooking, sorting out presents. I think I may have a little bit of Scrooge in me, I could easily skip Christmas but I'm not sure my family would agree to that at all.
