I'm guessing if you have seen my blog before you would know I consider myself a bookie. It's one of my favourite things to do reading, it always has been. My nans favourite story to tell is every Saturday my nan and gramps would take me to Sainsbury's to do their weekly shop. I would be placed in the trolley and I'd choose a book and read with them while on the weekly shop. My favourite was this one where they went to the seaside. Anyway my love of books has grown and grown, I go through stages of reading a ridiculous amount of books in a short space of time (I do little else.) Obviously with Uni work and the need for a social life, reading sometimes a back seat, but then the need for me to pick up a book comes back with a vengeance. I am currently reading The complete works of Sherlock Holmes, that my best friend brought me a few years old. It's pretty criminal that I've only started reading it properly now. Obviously being at University, you have to try and be practical and not bring everything you own, I definitely learned that last year. So at my mums house there are boxes and boxes and draws brimming with clothes, shoes, knick-knacks, cd's and dvd. But I think what I have most of are books, my mum gets pretty livid with me, when I walk through the door with a waterstones bag that contains not 1 but 3 books because there was a sale on. A constant from my dear mother is ' When you move out, properly move out, I don't know what your going to do with all your books, it's ridiculous Aimee.' My argument to her is that, 'You always told me to read when I was growing because it's a good thing to do, so really it's your fault.' So I have been thinking about what I'm going to do with all my books and while browsing pinterest I have come up with a few ideas, well other people's ideas and I steal them. Unfortunately they are going to have to remain is various places dotted over Sheffield and my mums house and nan's house also.
