The Catcher in the Rye

Anybody who follows me on twitter and reads my tweets, they will know I had a bit of an issue with trying to find my copy of this book. It is one of my favourite books of all time, but unfortunately I couldn't find my copy anywhere, so I rang three separate libraries; nobody had it. So I ended up re-buying it, for any other book I wouldn't have bothered but this is something special. If you have never read this book before, I strongly suggest that you do; I won't spoil anything for you but you will not regret it. I said I'm not going to spoil the book for those of you who haven't read it, so I will not say anything more; other than take my advice and read it, also if you have already read it, read it again because you will understand how brilliant it is. I leave you with a quote my friends.

-“Anyway, I keep picturing all these little kids playing some game in this big field of rye and all. Thousands of little kids, and nobody’s around - nobody big, I mean - except me. And I’m standing on the edge of some crazy cliff. What I have to do, I have to catch everybody if they start to go over the cliff - I mean if they’re running and they don’t look where they’re going I have to come out from somewhere and catch them. That’s all I do all day. I’d just be the catcher in the rye and all. I know it’s crazy, but that’s the only thing I’d really like to be.

-J.D. Salinger (The Catcher in the Rye)
